The Great Bingo Name Change

Many UK Bingo players will be getting emailed regarding a name change. One of the perks of regulation is that everyone must be informed when a bingo company name changes. In this instance, it seems that the takeover of the Dragonfish Bingo platform is taking place.

New Bingo Company Details

So far, we have seen several bingo sites sending an email advising that on 31 May 2022, they would cease operating as 888 UK. From that period on, players must agree to be entertained by Grand Battery Holdings Limited.

The usual regulatory wording is in place too. We have pasted it below. Essentially it is to get permission to maintain contact with players. Without that permission, the new company taking over the UK Bingo business cannot contact players. The email is important because if you do not want your details or funds transferred, you must respond to ask for account closure.

We are letting you know that on 31st May 2022, Bingorella will cease to be operated by 888 UK Limited and will instead be operated by Grand Battery Holdings Limited. Grand Battery Holdings Limited is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under licence number 058267-R-334552-003.

On 31st May 2022, pursuant to section 16.5 of the 888 UK Limited User Agreement (which currently applies to your use of Bingorella), the agreement between you and 888 UK Limited will be transferred to Grand Battery Holdings Limited. From this date, your use of Bingorella will be governed by the Grand Battery Holdings Limited User Agreement. The terms and conditions of the Grand Battery Holdings Limited User Agreement are the same in all material respects as the 888 UK Limited User Agreement. Please see the Grand Battery Holdings Limited User Agreement located here and Privacy Policy located here.

In order to ease this process as much as possible, unless you ask to close your account by 31st May 2022 (as further set out below), any funds in your account will be transferred to Grand Battery Holdings Limited. Your personal information will be shared with Grand Battery Holdings Limited pursuant to the 888 UK Limited Privacy Policy.

Your funds will be held by GBHL in a bank account which meets the Great Britain Gambling Commission’s requirements at the medium protection level.

If you do not agree to the Grand Battery Holdings Limited User Agreement or do not wish for your funds to be transferred from 888 UK Limited to Grand Battery Holdings Limited, please contact us at Contact Us by 31st May 2022, to request that we close your account. If you do not close your account by 31st May 2022, the Grand Battery Holdings Limited User Agreement will apply to you from this date.

Please note that you may independently withdraw the funds in your account at any time, subject to the withdrawal terms and conditions of the 888 UK Limited User Agreement (in respect of withdrawals made before 31st May 2022) or the Grand Battery Holdings Limited User Agreement (in respect of withdrawals made after 31st May 2022). For assistance in withdrawing your funds please contact us at Contact Us.

From 31st May 2022, direct marketing communications will be sent to you by Grand Battery Holdings Limited (as opposed to 888 UK Limited). If you would like to change your marketing preferences, you can do so via “My Account”. If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact us at Contact Us.
